GW WBB looks to continue win streak vs St Bonaventure

By Adam Chatman

After coming off a solid home win versus Dayton, George Washington(17-8, 10-3) looks to continue their dominance at home facing off against St. Bonaventure(9-16, 4-9). Last time out Caira Washington continued her dominant season for the Colonials recording 14 points and 9 rebounds. Her performance enabled the Colonials to win 52-39 versus Dayton. For St. Bonaventure in their last game, they faced off against Saint Louis. SBU was unable to stop the hot shooting of SLU and fell to the Billikens 74-58.

The key players to look out for tonight, for St. Bonaventure are Junior Guard Mariah Ruff and Senior Forward Gabby Richmond. These are two players that can fill it up for the Bonnies, and are the key to their offense. Richmond is also very effective on the boards as she averages 7.2 rebounds per game. For the Colonials the key players are going to be Caira Washington and Lexi Martins. These two seniors put a lot of pressure on opposing players in the paint, and are very difficult to stop when they get inside. Martins is also a solid 3 point shooter(.311 on the season) and can make opponents pay from both inside and out.

The Colonials are currently on a hot streak and it doesn’t seem like they are going to let anyone stop them anytime soon. St. Bonaventure is on a four game losing streak and seem to be struggling this season. The Colonials offensive firepower and defensive prowess may be too much for the Bonnies to handle. If the Colonials can play their brand of basketball, there will be very little question in this matchup.
