GW MBB beats UCF 74-59

By: Matt Montag

The George Washington Colonials (8-4) controlled the game from start to finish Thursday night as they defeated the talented University of Central Florida Knights (7-3) 74-59. Sophomore Jordan Roland was without question the star of the game, scoring 22 points in the second half and 27 overall, a career-high.

The Knights had no answers for Roland and the Colonials offense as they allowed him to take wide-open shots all night. Tyler Cavanaugh had a stellar game as usual with 19 points and 6 rebounds, while Freshman Arnaldo Toro did an excellent job of guarding the 7-foot-6 Tacko Hall all night. The Colonials put together a strong outing defensively, preventing the Knights offense from finding a rhythm while forcing 11 turnovers.

After winning three in a row and five out of their last six the streaking Colonials will have a week off before they head to Coral Gables, Florida to face the University of Miami Hurricanes. WRGW coverage will start at 6:50 PM with the tip at 7 PM. You can catch all the coverage at gwradio.com.
