By: Cam Ventola

Today at 4:00 pm ET, the George Washington Colonials (3-2) pursue their 4th win of the year as they take on the Penn State Nittany Lions (3-3) at the Charles E. Smith Center in Washington, DC.

The Colonials are coming off an 81-74 loss to the University of Alabama at Birmingham, during which Forward Tyler Cavanaugh led the way with a double-double, 19 points and 13 rebounds. Junior Guard Yuta Watanabe had an impressive performance with 18 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocks, while Redshirt Junior Jaren Sina also impressed with 16 points and 5 rebounds, shooting 4-8 from 3.

The Nittany Lions beat Colgate 72-59 due to monster performances across the board–Junior Forward Payton Banks dazzled with 20 points and 2 steals, Junior Guard Terrence Samuel stuffed the stat sheet with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists, while Freshman Guard Tony Carr led the team in rebounds, putting up 14 points and 7 boards.

With Penn State’s defense allowing an average 74 points per game, and the Colonials’ only 69, GW stands to benefit greatly–not to mention Penn State has a -5 rebound margin to GW’s +9. The Colonials seem poised for the win, 73-68.
