La Salle Postgame

The George Washington Colonials (14-3, 4-0 A-10) cruised towards their 9th consecutive victory Wednesday night over the La Salle Explorers (3-14, 0-4 A-10), winning 83-59.
The Colonials used a fantastic offensive and defensive act to cruise towards a 24 point victory. They would dominate the first half, shooting 52.8% from the field while holding the Explorers to 32.1% shooting. The second half brought offensive struggles to both teams as they both shot roughly 34%. They held a 37 point lead early in the fourth quarter but the Explorers caught fire outscoring the Colonials 25-16.
Hannah Schaible led the Colonials with 14 points on 6-9 shooting as well as 5 rebounds. Jonquel Jones put up her 14th double double of the season with 13 points, 16 rebounds with 7 of those boards on the offensive end. Lauren Chase had a near double double with 10 points while dishing out 8 assists. DaLacy Anderson led all bench players with 10 points on 5-7 shooting.
For the Explorers, they were led by Amy Griffin with 16 points (albeit on 6-18 shooting while also turning the ball over 7 times) and 8 boards. Micahya Owens also had a strong scoring day with 14 points (on 6-14 shooting) with 6 boards.
Next up for the Colonials will be the #25 Duquesne Dukes in Pittsburgh this Sunday at Noon. This game will also be nationally televised on ESPNU and can be heard on WRGW Sports Radio.
