Three Questions

  1. What does a potential win mean?  A win against # 6 Virginia would be a defining moment for Coach Mike Lonergan and Seniors Patricio Garino, Kevin Larsen and Joe McDonald but what occurs after a potential win will be even bigger. Last year fans forgot the big win in Hawaii against Wichita State, this game is much bigger and is at home but if GW goes on to lose at South Florida or has any other slip ups in non-conference play, the win against UVA wouldn’t mean much moving forward.
  2. How many UVA fans make the trip from Charlottesville?  Tonight’s game will be sold out and will be a majority pro GW crowd. However, when VCU a similar program with major success makes the trip up, there is always  a lot of Ram fans. Hoping tonight is different but don’t be surprised to hear a lot of UVA fans in the background of the broadcast.
  3. Who steps up?  Anytime you are faced with the daunting challenge of a top ten team it will often take a memorable performance to pull off the upset. Tonight will not be any different and after a quiet performance against Lafayette, I expect Joe McDonald to be the one that steps up and helps GW pull out the win.

Game Prediction-  GW grinds out a nail biter and wins on a pair of clutch free throws from McDonald.  Final Score- GW- 71- UVA 69
