The Colonials face a major test tonight, making the short trip down to Richmond to take on nationally-ranked VCU in am arena they have historically struggled in.
GW is currently on a four-game winning streak and coming off a 74-59 win over Duquesne, a game in which they torched the Dukes from beyond the arc. Patricio Garino led the way with 20 points while Joe McDonald added 16 in a game that was not really as close as the score indicated.
However, they should be expecting another easy game tonight on the road against Shaka Smart’s VCU team coming off a nail-biting win at Saint Louis. It was certainly their weakest performance of the Atlantic 10 slate thus far, so they should come into tonight’s game with something to prove, which does not bode well for GW.
WRGW’s coverage begins at 6:45 with tipoff scheduled for 7 pm on gwradio.com.
