The Colonials have had plenty of time to regroup after being on the wrong end of a second half beatdown in a 59-42 loss to #9 Virginia last Friday. After taking a 26-22 lead to the locker room at halftime, the offense faltered under a defensive onslaught from the Cavaliers. While Kethan Savage finished with a respectable 13 points on 5-9 shooting and Yuta Watanabe added 10 points and five rebounds, key cogs Patricio Garino and Kevin Larsen had no impact on the game, combining for a mere 7 points on 3-12 shooting. GW will struggle to beat any team, let alone a top-10 team in the country when they get as little as they did from those two in Charlottesville.

Mike Lonergan and the coaching staff are certainly hoping a home matchup with Longwood will be just what the doctor ordered for his team as the Lancers are coming off a 31-point loss to Eastern Michigan three days ago. Kevin Larsen should still have his hands full with Longwood center Lotanna Nwogbo, the Lancers leading scorer with 14.6 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. Freshman guard Ryan Badowski has also had a solid start to his collegiate career off the bench for Longwood, averaging 13.2 points a game. It will be up to Kethan Savage and Darian Bryant to shut down Badowski when he is on the floor.

GW leads the all-time series with Longwood 2-1, but will be looking to avenge an 80-78 loss in their last meeting back in January 2009. WRGW’s coverage begins at 6:45 with tip off scheduled for 7 pm on
