Western Kentucky Women’s Recap
BOWLING GREEN KY- With the big red blob out in full force, GW couldn’t quite topple the lady toppers.
After a big three point play from Western Kentucky guard Kenzie Rich, Antelia Parrish answered with a big three pointer to cut the lead to 64-60 with just over two and a half minutes to go. However, Western Kentucky went on a 6-0 and ended up with the win 72-64.
Antelia Parish and Jessica Adair led GW in scoring with 13 points apiece, but foul trouble kept both players out for a substantial portion of the second half. In spite of the fact that Western Kentucky had foul problems of its own, both teams were in the bonus by the seven minute mark, GW shot just 12-20 from the foul line.
For Western Kentucky the story of the game was guard Kenzie Rich, who dropped 22 points on the Colonials including four threes. GW looked on many occasions that they were going to make a push for the lead in the second half, but missed free throws, layups, and ill advised fouls ultimately sunk GW.
