Jonathan Tsipis, Associate Head Coach for the Notre Dame Women’s Basketball program, will likely fill the vacancy in the George Washington University’s women’s basketball team.  Following the NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship where #1 Baylor defeated #4 Notre Dame in a post-game interview, Coach Tsipis was wished luck with his future the George Washington University.

The Washington Post revealed Tsipis as GW’s top prospect: “Notre Dame assistant Jonathan Tsipis has emerged as the leading candidate to take over the vacant George Washington head coaching position, according to people familiar with the coaching search.”

The University of Notre Dame Athletic Media Relations Office declined to comment and wished the George Washington University Athletics Department best of luck whomever they picked to fill the position.

Tsipis is expected to be introduced as head coach on Friday.  Further details to come.
